How we make money

One page, plainly written, so you can discount our advice appropriately.

• We are paid by installers and boiler companies when you request a quote through a link on this site. Those links are labelled as advertising at the point of the click, not in the footer.
• The payout is a flat fee or a percentage set by the advertiser. It does not vary with what we write, and no advertiser sees a page before it is published.
• We do not rank companies by payout. Where a page lists more than one, the order is alphabetical unless we say otherwise.
• The grant database, the calculators and the methodology are not sponsored and never have been. If an advertiser's product looks bad in a calculation, the calculation stays.
